Hiking in a skirt? Why not! Introducing the Rossa W Skirt

Hiking in a skirt? Why not! Introducing the Rossa W Skirt

It wasn't that long ago when skirts were the first choice for female hikers and even male hikers. They provided lots of much-desired ventilation, didn't restrict movement, and just looked good. However, then came to the decline and skirts absolutely disappeared from the hiking trails, at the expense of the classic hiking pants and later hiking leggings, which are currently having their best years.

But is a skirt a piece of clothing that belongs only in the city, at work, and at social events? Or were there adequate reasons why they were once so popular?

Why is a hiking skirt a good idea?

Taking trousers or leggings for hiking seems to be the only dilemma in recent years when asked what to dress the lower half of the body in. But hiking skirts definitely deserve to be included in the equation, as they offer several benefits that hiking pants or hiking leggings will never offer.

As is also typical of regular fashion skirts, the biggest benefit is a large amount of room for leg and thigh ventilation, which is especially priceless in hot weather.

Thanks to their construction, the skirts also do not restrict movement in any way, which can also be said of high-quality hiking leggings, but the skirts take this freedom up a level.

What's more, the skirt also provides plenty of room for layering options and combines well with the leggings, giving you the space to manipulate the layers exactly how you like them in the weather conditions.

This is our new Rossa W Skirt!

However, the observant eye will have noticed that skirts are very slowly and carefully making a big comeback in the mountains, and we've taken that cue and translated our most popular Rossa jacket model into a skirt called the Rossa W Skirt too.

In practice, this means that we have taken the proven hybrid construction of the Rossa and Arth jackets, composed of three top-quality materials, and translated its benefits and features into a new skirt model.

The Toyota Gelanots top material is very durable yet breathable, so moisture that is not wicked away by the bottom of the skirt will very quickly and efficiently penetrate through the material to the outside and evaporate. The skirt is filled with a very light Primaloft Active filling that is pleasantly warm, making this skirt an excellent choice for transitional periods or as a top layer over leggings for intense winter sports such as cross-country skiing. The third material is the Polartec Powerstretch as fleece panels, found on the sides of the skirt and in the back, which has stretch properties and further increases comfort when moving so that the skirt really doesn't restrict in any way.

For starters, we chose as a color the timeless black, which can be playfully combined with any other color, there is also no lack of reflective elements for greater safety or zippers for customization.
