Get equipped for music festivals at great discounts!
Sun, music, dancing, partying, friends. The atmosphere of summer music festivals can't be imitated by anything else.
But summer music festivals also require careful planning, especially when it comes to logistics. Not only how to get to the venue, but also where and how one will spend the night in order to regain enough strength for the next festival days. And that's where we come in.
At ZAJO you will find everything you need for a comfortable festival night in a tent. After all, when these tents, sleeping bags and mats have stood up to the most inhospitable conditions imaginable, they'll easily make it through the festival. At the same time, we understand that music festivals, unlike mountains, have their own specific requirements, so we've put together a short guide on making the right choice from our range.
Choosing a tent for a summer festival - Don't worry about weight, worry about space
When choosing a hiking tent, weight is key. After all, a tent is highly likely to be the heaviest piece of equipment for the average hiker, and on multi-day hikes, when you can really feel every gram on your back, a tent is the first item where weight can be saved. That's why there is a category of so-called ultralight tents, which thanks to specific materials can offer the same quality parameters as other tents, but at a significantly lower weight, which also makes them less affordable. And at the same time, mainly because of the grams, there is no reason to take a bigger tent than the number of people who have to spend the night in it. That means a two-person tent for two people and a three-person tent for three.
However, at festivals you won't be carrying the tent on your back all day, at most you'll be carrying it from the car park or the nearest bus stop. This gives us a lot more freedom and a wider choice. For one thing, we don't have to be so considerate of the weight of the tent, which allows us to save some of that money, but we can also reach for a larger tent, even one originally designed for more people, which will give us more living space.
Since summer festivals are held in the hot summer, a lot of emphases must also be placed on ventilation features such as ventilation grilles or two entrances opposite each other, which will give more opportunities for moisture to escape and more space for fresh air to get in. But with high temperatures come evening heat storms, which all our outdoor tents are perfectly prepared for - you can rely on waterproof materials with a high water column that won't let a drop of water through even in the fiercest downpour.

Choosing a sleeping bag for a summer festival - Forget the "fancy" down and reach for synthetics
As with tents, sleeping bags are one of the heavier pieces of equipment, but the nature of festivals and the whole logistics give us the chance to not deal so strictly with their weight. Plus, thanks to the summer temperatures, we don't have to worry about extremely cold nights, for which down-filled sleeping bags are ideal.
Down is an amazing filling material, but we reach for synthetics for summer festivals for several reasons. After all, down's biggest advantage is its fantastic warmth-to-weight ratio. And ironically, these are two parameters that we don't really have to deal with for hot summer festival nights.
On the contrary, we need a sleeping bag that will work 100% even after getting wet, in which we won't get boiled even in the summer and which, in case of some form of "accident", can be washed in a regular washing machine without any problems.
Everything that our synthetic fibre-filled sleeping bags offer.
Choosing a summer festival sleeping mat - Can the most affordable one be the best one?
Sleeping mats are sometimes an underrated piece of sleeping gear, but especially in cold conditions they can make a crucial difference when it comes to thermal comfort. However, this problem doesn't really affect us at summer festivals, so we can also look around for more affordable options.
When it comes to choosing a sleeping mat, it's very much about your preference. You can go for the thickest sleeping mattress, which is almost like sleeping in a bed at home, but it's harder on your budget and heavier. Or you can choose one of the thinner self-inflating mattresses, which are comfortable, stable and lightweight.
A third option is our most affordable foam mattress, but for many, this may be the best choice - unlike self-inflating mattresses, it's not at risk of punctures, it's more than adequate for the summer heat, it's extremely lightweight, and you'll spend literally just a few bucks for it.
