How to choose a tent?

Tents are our home away from home and one of the most important elements of any tourist equipment, so it is necessary to pay special attention to their selection. The difference between a good and a bad tent may not only be in how many years and treks it will last you, but it can also ultimately decide whether you can survive the critical moments in the mountains in safety and comfort.

By number of persons

Do you prefer to go out in nature alone or with a girlfriend by your side? Or the whole family? Our tents are designed for 1-4 people and the choice depends on what your needs are.

But there is one small problem. If you think that buying a tent for three will be a safer choice, even if you usually go to nature only two, it will not be such a good idea. The tents have their weight and the difference in the weight of the tent will be noticeable on a several-day trek. Nevertheless, no one takes tents on their backs for one-day hikes, and for longer hikes it is really worth considering every single gram.

By shape

In our portfolio you will find two basic types of tents - dome and tunnel. Each of them has its advantages and disadvantages, and when choosing a tent, it is advisable to consider what exactly your specific needs require.

Tunnel tents are more suitable for longer hikes. Thanks to the fact that they do not need such a robust construction, they save on weight here, which will please you on longer hikes. They are generally easier to build. On the other hand, unlike dome tents, they do not have such stability, the space in them is suitable specifically for sleeping rather than for relaxing time and require a better "base".

Dome tents are the exact opposite - they are a bit heavier and more difficult to set up, but they provide more space, are more stable and you can spread them out on worse terrain.

It is also possible to choose their hybrid, in our case our flagship Lofoten 2. This tent offers the benefits of both worlds and if you are not convinced of its quality - this tent has conquered the second highest peak in the world.

By season

In terms of seasonality, our tents are divided into two categories - three-season and year-round. The one season that is missing behind the name "three-season" is naturally winter.

In this case, it is clear - if you go camping in the winter, a year-round tent is a clear choice. It provides extra protection against the natural elements, which is also reflected in their weight and price. Three-season tents are made of lighter materials and do not require a solid construction, so they are generally lighter and more affordable.
